The workshop is specialized in the restoration of antique strawbottom seats or designer chairs. Time is taken to do everything by hand to bring valuable seats back to life.
I do not use ready-made straw reels and cheap paper imitations. This would be time saving but would lead to a poor result that doesn't suit the seats I am entrusted with.
The straws selected are fine, of excellent quality and grown in France. The strand is made by hand in the traditional way.
You have the choice, according to your tastes and the style of the seats, between:
Some 20th century chairs, sometimes signed by great names in design, require Asian sea rush, which is less fine, but nonetheless hand fashioned at
the workshop, never out of a ready-to-use roll.
I try to restore using as much as possible the original raw materials and techniques.
